Call for Papers

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, – a premier technical Institute in India, which has completed more than 70 years in its pursuit of disseminating quality education, is organizing an International Conference on Computational Intelligence: Machine Learning for Geospatial Analytics from 26-28 Feb 2026. This will be the third edition of the conference, with the inaugural conference held in 2015 and 2018. Both ICCI 2015 and ICCI 2018 were the success stories and attracted participants from across the country and abroad. The proceedings are available at  Springer (ICCI 2015) and Springer (ICCI 2018).This year too we are committed to making ICCI 2026 an even greater success.

ICCI 2026 Aims

ICCI 2026 aims to bring together leading academicians, scientists, researchers, and research scholars from India and abroad to share and exchange their research experiences and contributions on Computational Intelligence with a special theme of Machine Learning for Geospatial Analytics. It shall also provide a premier interdisciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, concerns, practical challenges encountered, and the solutions adopted in the field of Computational Intelligence.

The proceedings of ICCI 2026 will be published by Taylor & Francis and will be submitted to SCOPUS and some of the selected papers will be made available in reputed journals indexed with SCI/SCIE/SCOPUS (discussions currently underway).

Call for Special Session:

The call for proposal to host special session for ICCI 2026 is now open.  Each organized special session should have a minimum of 06 registered papers. The session organizers have full authority in soliciting and accepting papers for the session. An Honorarium of will be provided to the session organizer (please note that a minimum of 06 papers should be registered and presented (either online or offline) to run a special session).

About Special Sessions

Special Session Organization is highly encouraged. The goal of these special sessions is to provide a forum for focused discussions on new topics or innovative applications of established approaches within the theme of the conference. Sessions of similar topics may be proposed, if needed we will schedule them at different slots over the conference period.

Each organized special session should have a minimum of 06 registered papers. The session organizers have full authority in soliciting and accepting papers for the session. Each session is limited to no more than 03organizers and the session organizer can designate a chair and a co-chair for the session. The allocated presentation time for each paper is 15 minutes which includes the time for questions from the audience.

An Honorarium will be provided to the session organizer to manage their special session (please note that a minimum of 06 papers should be registered and presented (either online or offline) to run a special session).

Please submit your special session proposals by email to the conference chairs at icci@bitmesra.ac.in. The proposals should include:

  1.  Special Session Title
  2.  A short description (2-3 lines) & covered topics
  3.  Session organizer(s) with their affiliation

All the special session proposals will be reviewed by conference organizers and TPC chairs and the accepted proposal will be notified to the organizers within one week from the submission date. Once the proposal is accepted it will appear under this tab with the special session name and their organizers.

Important Notes

  • Authors submitting papers for any of the proposed special sessions should choose the respective session number and title in CMT. A dedicated track is created for each special session in the CMT, authors submitting papers to any of the special sessions are requested to choose the respective tracks for submitting their papers for the corresponding special sessions.
  • If for a special session, the number of received papers is less than 10, then all those papers in that special session will be considered as a regular submission.
